My earrings are made from maple wood and I paint them with iridescent acrylic paints. There is a protective coating on top to keep the paint from chipping. The ear hooks and jump rings are made from gold plated surgical steel so you will not get any allergies!!!The approximate diameter of the wood is 4.5 cm and the total length from the earwire to the bottom of the wood disc is 6.5 cm
